About Me.
Hey there! This is the journal of a 23-year-old travel enthusiast, where you can read about travel experiences, and also take something for your future journeys by reading travel guides and the useful info in the blog! Life is about giving and being, and this nomad is here to share her experiences!
When I was a child, I used to leaf through the pages of world atlas; observing the flags of the countries I've never been to and trying to find each country on the map. And yes, that turned out to be that I was the only student in the high school who loved the Geography class ☺. My first traveling abroad experience has been to Zurich, Switzerland when I was 15. The smell of my new passport, the first Schengen visa that I obtained (though I am totally against the concept of passports and visas in a world where we talk about "freedom of movement"), the first stamp put on the last page of my passport are still on my mind. That was the first time I realized a huge difference between my home country and another country. And that was the beginning of a new era: an era of exploring the world and broadening my horizons. When my dreams came true, the desire to widen my horizons through traveling has been ignited even more! For me, traveling means freedom, growing stronger and getting out of my comfort zone! As a woman traveling alone who lives in a society where we are oppressed in terms of our lifestyle, what we wear, where we go, to whom we talked, I try to break the chains with traveling abroad. Besides, as a person of generation-Y (aka "Millenials"), I have never been the one feeling an ambition to buy a house or a car. I know that buying such immovables will mean taking root to somewhere. But every corner of the world is my home and my only dream has been wandering the world since my early childhood! My passion in traveling is not something unique. I know that I share the same trait with millions of people out there! It is a gene coded in our DNAs, inherited from our ancestors who were 24-hour-nomads. That is why I call it "the science of traveling the world". Well, welcome to my world! Yes, I live with traveling. It is my reason of holding to life, and it is the reason who I am today. It enhanced my self-confidence as if I have discovered the meaning of being a person, being a woman and being a human. And I know that nothing will be the same anymore, as I have already tasted the addictive potion of traveling! Last, but not least, I also believe that when traveling is coupled with photography, they create a magic: the most unforgettable and everlasting memory in the world! That is why I take lots of photos during my travels! The camera provides one option. Taking photographs can assuage the itch for possession sparked by beauty of a place; our anxiety over losing a precious scene can decline with every click of the shutter. |
